Shade 03:58
Shade I’ve been stumbling in the dark Tripping on my words and my feet And I’ve been hurting in my heart Wondering what you’re doing to me ‘cause we’re so busy taking sides, so busy drawing lines and covering our eyes from what we don’t wanna see and I'm so tired of the chase, I'm so tired of the race so why don’t you just stay with me ‘cause I will follow you where you go When you slow, I will slow And when you run, I’ll be right there beside you When you say jump, I say how high I’d push the sun out of the sky Just to make it night, ‘cause that’s what you like Though I can’t stand your shade And I'm so tired of your rain I’ll stay right here ‘till the clouds go Yea, I will stay in your shade if you promise to hold on People get what they deserve And then they cry because it hurts And I know you're just a man, but I will do whatever I can Just to stand where you stand CHORUS Hold on, hold onto me, hold on I will stay in your shade...
2.
The Key 04:19
The Key You’ve been crawling down the same old path Wondering why it always takes you back You swear you’ll make a change But you can’t outrun the shadows tied to your feet You can’t open your mouth when you’re grinding your teeth You just rearrange But sometimes you’ve gotta let it go Leave behind what you know Let it go, let it out Walk away, don’t turn around You can leave it all behind Shut the door and walk away They don’t deserve you anyway You can do it, yea throw away the key If the ground keeps crumbling, then get some wings You gotta rise to survive this thing Yea, fly, and throw away the key You can keep that bitter taste in your mouth You’ll get thin, but there’s no way out That’s no way to live a life Sometimes you gotta burn that bridge down Let it light your way out It hurts, but it’s right And you can shout and blame from the top of your lungs You can shake and cry or you can learn to trust It doesn’t have to be a fight CHORUS
3.
Anchor 04:34
Anchor Are you sure about me? Am I what than you thought I would be? In a field of daisies Said I was your rose, your lady But there’s one thing I’ll never ever be I’ll never be your anchor Tying you to the sea In a world of gray You live in technicolor When I don’t know what to say You know just what to utter And I fade to shadows when you come around But I won’t be your anchor I refuse to hold you down And all my life, I’ve been searching for you In a world gone mad – you’re the truth And lord I’m fighting God, I’m trying To be the best I can But I won’t be your anchor If you’re a better man I don’t go to church But I pray every single day I believe in god Because he sent you my way And, I swear To be the dream you dreamed And I won’t be your anchor 'cause you make me believe And I won’t let you drown If you keep me around Put your faith in me I won’t be your anchor Our ship has holes But it’s sailing free

Like A Record You’re like a record, baby Spinning around in my head You got me goin’ lately Keep you around ‘till I’m dead You’re like a record, baby Come ‘round again and again You got me feelin’ crazy I like those things that you said You’re like a record, baby I dig your style and your dreads I think that you could save me Make your move, go ahead You’re like a record, baby, yea… Oh, oh, oh You’re like a record, baby Spinning around in my head You got me goin’ lately Keep you around ‘till I’m dead You’re like a record, baby Come ‘round again and again You got me feelin’ crazy I like those things that you said You’re like a record, baby I dig your style and your dreads I think that you could save me Come on, go ahead You’re like a record, baby, You’re like a record, baby You’re like a record, baby Come ‘round again and again and again, yea…

Apologies 05:12
Apologies He lives a life without consequence Doesn’t care what he’s left And she carries his blame around Unaware of what he’s done Unaware of what she’s become Dying beneath his weight, drags her down But hold on, little girl, there’s more for you in this world But hold on, little girl, get yourself the world She’s swingin’ in the breeze Cut off at the knees Hangin’ on all apologies She’s just tryin’ to believe Strugglin’ to breathe I don’t need much, just an apology Livin’ life in shades of gray Prayin’ for brighter days For a little red and blue She keeps choking on what she doesn’t say Her tongue is a knot, when she tries to pray God, help me find my way I hear, hold on, little girl, but I’m tired of this world Hold on, little girl, gotta be more than this world CHORUS Those apologies you’ll never get All those nights you can’t forget Sleeping on cold floors Those apologies you’ll never get All those nights you won’t forget All those slamming doors Those apologies you’ll never get All those nights you can’t forget Why can’t you hear me? These apologies I’ll never get All these things I can’t forget All I want is an apology CHORUS x2 / I don’t needmuch…just an apology

A Thousand Lives I’ve lived a thousand lives Just to get here on time I’ve lived a thousand lives Just to survive Go ahead and tell me I was wrong But I went and tried it all I lived so many ways and so many places But the same souls, they always chase us now I’ve lived a thousand lives I barely made it here on time I’ve lived a thousand lives Just to get by Go ahead find my mistakes But just don’t call it fate Didn’t live between the lines My mama says I turned out fine But I’ve lived a thousand lives I’ve tried a thousand tries Everything that breathes, it cries Everything that lives, it dies Between the liquor store and church Between the love and the hurt I get myself alive Don’t know why why why why But I’ve lived a thousand lives I’ve tried a thousand tries Everything that breathes, it cries Everything that lives, it dies Everything that lives, it dies Everything that lives, it dies But at least I lived a thousand lives And I made the most of my time

Devil's Walk 05:55
Devil’s Walk See, everybody’s got something to die for But they spend their whole lives living flat on the floor They’re talking and crying and screaming so loud Pushing their opinions every way they know how But did you stop to think the world’ll keep on spinnin’ when you said it all, when you think you’re finished ‘cause everyone’s a hero, everyone’s a victim I hear what you’re sayin, it’s just not convincing…me ‘cause she talks to jesus She keeps an open mind She keeps looking for faith But it’s hard to find She wonders why God left her behind Left us behind Prayin’ for God her whole life But the devil’s been right at her side Which way can you turn Which way’s right Which way is right? I’ll walk the devil’s walk See, everybody’s sane in a world gone mad Everyone deserves more than they have But not everybody thinks the way you do When there’s too many shades of the truth But I can’t keep my tongue tied anymore I got too much to say, to fight for You’re my sister, you’re my brother So, why’d they go and shoot another…down? ‘cause he talks to jesus He keeps an open mind He keeps looking for faith But it’s hard to find He wonders why God left him behind Left us behind Prayin’ for God his whole life But the devil’s been right at his side Which way can you turn Which way’s right Which way is right? We’ll walk the devil’s walk How long, how long Can we keep this going on We’re running out of time Out of time But did you stop to think the world’ll keep on spinnin’ When you said it all, when you think you’re finished ‘cause everyone’s a hero, everyone’s a victim I hear what you’re sayin’, it’s just not convincin’ … me CHORUS The devil’s walk, The devil’s walk…. ‘cause everyone’s a hero, everyone’s a victim I hear what you’re sayin’, it’s just not convincin’ … me

Liner Notes:
This will be my tenth original album released since 2013. While I still find that shocking, what I find much more amazing is that if you had told me this fact in 2012 – I would have said you were absolutely insane. After all, I was a different person then, one not nearly good enough to write songs and release albums. I didn’t even know how – let alone think I could.

We all live so many lives within our moment here. And while we experience so many changes, so many versions of ourselves, I’ve found that most of my changing happened for the wrong reasons. I changed to accommodate other people, because I thought I couldn’t do something, because I wanted to be someone else, because I was afraid. But being here, writing this right now, I realize “I’ve lived a thousand lives / just to get here on time.” Here. With this band, this team, this family. I'm so honored to create with these incredible people and live this lucky life. Thank you. I love you all.

It’s when we stop changing for the world and choose to come back to ourselves that the real magic happens. That’s when we get out of the shade of others, and stop walking someone else’s walk. That’s when we release ourselves from the anchor of our insecurities and accept the fact that some apologies will never come. Life is like a record, with similar themes, patterns and people coming around again and again and only we hold the key to our own success. Let go. They don’t deserve you. Be bigger. Surround yourself with better people and you will become better. Go for it.

Live another life – the one you want.
And know – you’re right on time.
